What’s in a name?
Copper Quoin is a name with purpose as well as a play on words. It draws inspiration from the biblical story of the widow who gave her last two coins, embodying the spirit of offering our best for God’s kingdom. For me, architecture and design are the gifts I have to share.
The term ‘quoin,’ pronounced like ‘coin,’ is an architectural element that holds both structural and decorative significance. These masonry blocks often found at the corners of buildings symbolize strength, integrity, and craftsmanship—qualities I strive to bring to every project.
History
I have been passionate about design since birth - and working professionally for over 25 years.
Values
I believe in building relationships. Buildings will fade but the relationships we create and the way in which we touch each other's lives will live on from generation to generation.
I also believe that good business is when everyone wins. I work hard for you. I listen. I have integrity.
Working with an architect should be fun. Let’s have fun together.
Location
I am based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan although I travel quite extensively. Good design can and often does happen anywhere. I work with clients in-person and online, depending on location and preference.

As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”
Luke 21:1-4
